OVERVIEW
Our project is dedicated to enhancing the Athena experience by focusing on usability, design consistency, and search functionality improvements. Initially, we conducted extensive research to understand user behaviors and perceptions of Athena 1.0. This research aimed to create a detailed user profile and validate new interface designs that align with the Pico Design System while meeting user and business needs.

Initial Challenges
A key objective was the development of Athena 1.0 interfaces that seamlessly integrate with the Pico Design System and address identified user and business requirements. Additionally, Athena 2.0 was conceptualized to further enhance data quality, refine search result filtering capabilities, and empower users with greater control over their search results.
Research & Immersion
Our research methodologies included user interviews, feature prioritization exercises, A/B testing, and optimizations of personas and user flows. We also benchmarked Athena against other leading search tools to gauge performance and usability benchmarks.
Strategically, we engaged sponsor users and stakeholders throughout the co-creation process to refine Athena 1.0 and ensure alignment with user expectations and business objectives. We meticulously measured the impact of these design improvements on user satisfaction and adoption rates to validate our strategies.
As a result of these efforts, we achieved increased brand consistency and familiarity with product design, reduced average search completion times, and streamlined the design-to-development process. Usability tests confirmed improved visualization and user interaction with search filters, leading to enhanced user satisfaction and adoption rates as evidenced by positive user reviews and feedback.

Research & Facilitation
As the leader of design for this project, I proposed different approaches to uncover user needs and improve the platform experience. With the partnership of sponsor users and stakeholders in the interviews and workshops, we prioritized features, developed a design strategy, and made interface improvements.
Design Lead
I collaborated with the Product Owner (PO) to strategize the best project roadmap for the design. I also worked directly with developers and designers from other teams to implement platform improvements and maintain consistency across the company's design solutions.
